Reiki is an ancient energy modality that is initiated through attunement of the practitioner. Both Healing Touch for Animals® and Reiki are biofield, energy-based modalities. The name Reiki can be translated as "universal life energy."
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation to promote healing. In Tibetan energetic healing, the practitioner sets an intention to facilitate the healing process of the animals and allows the appropriate amount of energy necessary for the problem to flow into the animal's body. This type of energy healing is ideal for use with animals because, with Reiki, the animal controls the treatment, accepting Reiki in the ways that are most comfortable, either hands-on or from a distance, or a combination of the two.
Reiki cannot do harm. It always goes to the deepest source of the problem and always supports a path towards balance and harmony. It is "laying hands on" and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us to be alive. If one's life force energy is low, we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki is a natural and safe method of health improvement. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and disease and always creates a beneficial effect. It works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to promote a healthy pet.
What is the difference between Healing Touch for Animals® (HTA) and Reiki?
Healing Touch for Animals® (HTA) and Reiki are based on energy medicine and are used for healing. If you want to practice Reiki, you have to be "attuned" by a Reiki Master. Reiki, as with HTA, balances the whole body. HTA offers numerous techniques to solve specific emotional and physical problems of your furry friend. Healing Touch for Animals® (HTA) was established specifically for animals (Healing Touch for Animals® / Komitor Healing Method (HTA/KHM). The HTA/KHM approach relies on biofield therapy, which is recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH). Reiki offers more generalized balancing of the body.
